Experience
As an undergraduate at Missouri State University, I obtained B.A. degrees in German and Latin and got my first tutoring experience. I worked with 18- to 50-year-old students in Latin, English Language Arts, Religious Studies, and Basic Computer Training. Today, Latin, English, and Social Studies are my favorite subjects to teach, although I tutor various others. It's fascinating how language, culture, and literature intertwine and affect everyone. There are many subjects I like to learn and re-discover and then teach to my students. I believe education expands the mind and improves one's quality of life. In the past, I've taught sixth to twelfth graders German, Latin, and Etymology. I also taught English to non-native speakers in Kansas City and in Seoul, South Korea. At the University of Missouri, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education and have an M.A. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. Prior to that, I studied Classics at the university. I like reading, traveling, and making jewelry in my spare time.
